About
Us
Hi there,
I'm Tom Brodie, speaking for myself and my business
partner and VWD co-founder,
Len Fitzgerald.
A lot of our members ask us questions when they
meet us
in person — yes, we’re not just anonymous figures
hiding behind the electronic veil of your computer screen — about
where we’ve come from, how and why we got started with VWD and, most
important, where we’re going with it…
Guess you’d like to know, too.
Personal Backgrounds
Well… briefly, Len and I had known each other for 8 years prior to
setting up Virtual World Direct. And among many things, one thing we
have in common is a
success-driven personality.
My own background is 12 years in
Sales and Marketing.
But in 1995 I was first exposed to the Internet… And that was it!...
I was hooked!
Without question, the business of the future had arrived… The
business I wanted to be involved with. In 1999 my career took me to
Sydney, Australia, where I've got more involved in
Database Development and
Internet Marketing.
Len,
on the other hand, had been running a successful business in the
video
industry for 20 years. In fact, he opened one of the
first-ever video rental stores in the UK, in
1984. I've always known Len’s business operational know-how and
customer service skills were first class.
Our Big
Idea
It occurred to us that there isn’t a single person on this planet
who doesn’t want to scoop a fortune on the lottery — just like us.
But of course, actually winning depends on Lady Luck giving you a
great big beaming smile on a lovely, life-changing day.
Yet
we pondered…
Rather than having one or two lucky folks walk off with more
multi-millions than they know what to do with every week, what if
there was a way to play lotteries that improves the lives of
numerous people all willing to
share in the big payouts?...
that would give everyone a better chance.
We decided to try and find it.
So… after much debate and research, we actually came up with a way
of putting the odds of winning much, much more in players’ favour —
by means of
lottery syndicates.
Nothing new about lottery syndicates of course, but thanks to
computers and the Internet there is, we discovered, a way of
organising them within a
sophisticated,
multiple-prize-winning system. A way which also meant
that
anyone in the world could benefit.
Mind
you, there was no guess-work. No theory. Just proven, mathematical
fact. (We actually worked on it with a university
Professor of Mathematics to make sure the figures
stacked up). Believe me, if it hadn’t delivered a significant
advantage over playing normally on your own, our Syndicate System
wouldn’t have been allowed off the drawing board — there would’ve
been no point in it.
Proof Of The Pudding In The… Winning
But we just knew that this idea, coupled
with our IT and business operating experience and an online ‘viral’
marketing-style business model, was going to be a winner…
As it happened, lots and lots of winners!
To cut a long story short… Since launching in April 2002, we’ve had
3,040 syndicate wins
and paid out
over half a million
pounds to members
in
127 different
countries.
But this is really just the beginning….
The more members we have joining us, the more Syndicates we have
playing… And the better the chances of winning jackpots. We
confidently predict that
hitting a ‘big one’
is just a matter of time
— the biggest being a EuroMillions jackpot, which could make 36
Syndicate members at least half a million pounds richer all at
once!... Can you just imagine that?

The expansion worldwide of Virtual World
Direct since its launch in April, 2002 has resulted in the
company moving to larger office premises in North Wales.
‘The business has been growing at such a rate that the move was
inevitable,’ explained VWD co-founder Len Fitzgerald. ‘The need
for extra working space to maintain the high standard of service
to members and keep pace with technological advances and demands
has been on the cards for some time.
‘Now we have the space to increase the number of membership
support team personnel and the room to expand in the forseeable
future.’
Apart
from offices, the accommodation also includes a boardroom and
conference room, which members can also use for recruitment and
promotional purposes, group meetings and other VWD business
sessions. Arrangements beforehand are requested.
'The
facilities reflect the ongoing growth of the business, which is
expanding faster than ever, and are there for the benefit of all
members,’ added Len. ‘Looking ahead, 2005 promises to be a
really good year.’
Back
Up And Support
I know from my business experience what a difference the right
support can make to your confidence and your success. And Len,
thanks to his past enterprises, has become a champion of Customer
Service. So we made sure we developed a highly efficient, very
friendly Member Support Team to
help make your e-Lottery experience one you’ll be happy to recommend
to family and friends.
Team work is one of the most important factors in building any
successful company. Here we all are, then, supporting each other and
working as a team…

life, front right — fearless!)
So
your thrill-seeking Member Support Team is there at the end of your
phone or email whenever the need arises… But if at any time you want
to have a word with myself or Len, personally, we welcome your
messages and calls.
