So we have discussed redirected URLs
and how we can use them to track hits or have a more recognisable
name. Next I will talk about websites with content.
A website with content may come in 2
basic forms
- A full website containing pages
and pages of information.
- A "Landing" page.
The "landing" page website usually
consists of just one page. It will normally be used as a "Lead
capture page" This will always contain a form asking for name,
email, telephone No. etc. or it may just be a one page "Sales" page
where you have your ad copy.

Remember at the very beginning of
this internet marketing section we discussed "The money's in the
list" or "The money's in the follow up" Well this type of website is
where you collect your names for your list.
Normally to encourage people to give
you their details you would offer something for free. An example of
this in action can be found on this site

In this example, I am combing the "Lead capure" page with the
"Sales" page. The freebie is a copy of "How to win Lotto" an ebook I
produced.
Notice that the form is at the top of
the page.
Once these names have been collected
(they have opted in) I can then start marketing to them via my
autoresponder.
To get visitors to this type of page
the best way is by
PPC (pay per
click) advertising.
PPC advertising are paid ads that are
shown on search engine listings. Each time someone clicks on your ad
you pay a small fee. These fees vary according to the popularity of
the "Keyword" or search term.

Why do it? It's a question I have
asked myself numerous times! I have around 6 websites now and it's a
constant, but worthwhile battle to keep them up to date!
The main reason for building a full
website is to generate free traffic also known as organic traffic.
This is done by getting your site listed in the "Organic" results
returned by a search engine following someone's search for a
particular keyword or set of key words (search term)
If you are thinking of building
your own website, to promote VWD (or anything else for that matter) there are a few
things you will need to have...
1) A domain name - a domain name is
your URL or your unique resource locator, better known as a web address I.E.
http://www.Play-Lotto-Free.com So
how do you go about getting one? Well there a quite a few companies on the
internet where you can register for .com, .co.uk, .org and many other
addresses. Unfortunately due to the ever increasing amount of websites on
the net, the chances of getting the name you want are not very good. Don't
worry, read on.... all will be explained in a moment!
2) A web host - A web host is a
company that hosts your site, the files that make up your site are stored on
their server. There are literally thousands of companies providing this type
of service and the prices they charge vary tremendously as does the customer
care!
3) A HMTL editing program - A program
that allows you to build web pages, all these pages are build using MS
Frontpage, another alternative would be MacroMedia Dreamweaver. These
programs are of the professional type and cost around £300 so not cheap!
There are of course many cheaper alternatives, but you will still have to
learn to program in HMTL - it's not at all difficult! if I can do it, anyone
can! especially with packages that having graphical user interfaces, so you
don't actually have to enter the code. It's a little similar to using a
combined word processor and a graphic design package I guess.
4) FTP transfer program - FTP stands
for File Transfer Protocol and is a small program used to transfer the files
from your HMTL editing program to your web hosts' server. Most good HMTL
editing packages (Frontpage/Dreamweaver) have these built into the program,
however some cheaper alternatives may not.
So it's all beginning to sound a bit
complicated eh? Really it's not! but I know when I first started it seemed
like people were throwing around a million different names for the bits that
go to make up a website and all that goes with it - and I didn't know any of
them!
Now if you already know about the internet,
websites, hosting, domain names etc (I could go on!) you will know that if I
offered you a domain name and hosting for only $10 (Dollars not pounds!) a month that would be a
good deal right?

Now you just start introducing this to your
friends, family, downline - anyone! and you get paid for it!

Whether or not you join WS and use the
webspace there, you will still need to optimize your website so that it
can be found by major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN etc.
Search Engine Optimization or SEO is an
art in itself, I discovered a program called
SEO
Elite. If you are going to be seriously looking into building your
own site and optimizing it yourself, I cannot recommend this highly
enough - it's just superb! and the author of this software has a manual
to back it up and even tells you just how to get to the top spot in
Google. I bought the software and read the manual, I have started
applying the techniques and my main site
