Your "Everyone you know" list will
eventually dry up unless you keep adding new contacts to it.
Hopefully you will! As you meet new people each day. You may feel
that you are not meeting enough new people quickly enough to achieve
your goals in your VWD business. If this is the case then an
alternative is to purchase leads. VWD can supply us with leads, to get them
go to your VWD site and click on "My Details" Go to the very
bottom of the page and click on "Total Leads"
Lead Sourcing
After
much research and testing over several months, VWD have secured a
reliable, 'professional' lead supply of the highest quality. They
are...
 |
Highly targeted - all from people who have expressed a
specific interest in lottery playing. |
 |
Exclusive to VWD - not shared with other marketers, unlike
many other lead sources. |
 |
Fresh - gathered from Internet questionnaires and sent your
first email within minutes. |
The
majority of the leads are from UK residents, the most likely
people to want to play UK National Lottery games. (VWD are mean-while
researching leads sourced from countries other than the UK).
The data
VWD capture from each lead comprises first and last names, email address
and, in some cases, postal address and telephone number.
Lead Processing
The leads
arrive at VWD in a more or less continuous stream, flowing into a
'lead pool'. They are then quickly allocated to members with pending
orders. Processing occurs as follows...
|
1. |
When
it's your turn in the queue, an initial batch of leads
uploaded into your Prospector. In any one this will be a
MAXIMUM of 20% of your total allocation. |
|
2. |
The
leads will start to be sent the 7 autoresponder emails
you can see on the 'Prospecting' page of your VWD site. |
|
3. |
The
remaining leads will be sent in further batches, each,
again, comprising a maximum of 20% of your total allocation. VWD
will notify you by email when each batch is being processed so
you can be prepared to take any necessary action. |
|
4. |
Since the autoresponder takes a total of 21 days to issue all 7
messages, processing your allocation should be complete in 4
to 5 weeks from the start. |
|
5. |
But
that's not the end if it... All prospects will continue to be
sent appropriate promotional messages as and when they arise
(until they unsubscribe from your list).
For example, they'll receive
notifications of any enhancements to the e-Lottery program and
all the rollover draw alerts. |
Conversion Rate
VWD would
love to be able to guarantee a conversion rate for your leads; say
exactly how many new members you will recruit per 100 leads.
Unfortunately they can't do that; there are simply too many variables in
the whole sourcing and prospecting process outside their control.
That
said, based on test results, you should find somewhere between 1% and
5% of your prospects become members. The average is around 2%.
Of
course, the more time that passes after completion of the initial email
series, the more likely it is the conversion rate will climb towards the
higher end of the range. So patience is key.
Getting The Best Results From Your Leads
But there
are things you can do to improve your conversion rate and, just as
important for your profit, the length of time your new members stay with
the program.
One thing
always to bear in mind is this...
People
join people, not
impersonal, remote organisations
So, make
sure you handle any enquiries received from prospects quickly and
courteously, if at all possible on the telephone. Make it a warm
and inviting personal experience for them.
Likewise,
if you receive a 'Pending Application' notification, meaning
they've attempted to join but the process has failed for some reason,
call them and help them overcome any problems and enrol a second time,
successfully.
And with
any new members who join you, again, we suggest you make contact
over the phone, especially if they're an Affiliate. So they know that
behind their computer screen there's a real, live human being welcoming
them and offering support.
I purchase these leads and they
currently return a 2 - 3% conversion ratio over time.
Things to know about leads
- "Total Leads" do not receive the
confirmation email and are put into the prospector and receive
the first email straight away.
- Don't purchase those "2 million
opportunity seeker" type leads that are advertised all over the
internet. They simply don't work and most of the names have been
used over and over again or they are names of people who do not
have the slightest interest.
You Have to Learn to DO THE DANCE.
Some
of our new affiliates email our support department and ask for
advice on how to recruit more people to VWD. The first thing we ask
them is "what are you doing now"?
Sadly,
more often than not, their reply is that their upline or someone
they know gave them a list of emails to send VWD promotions to. So,
they fire up their email program and send away, or worse yet - enter
a list of people they don't know into the autoresponder system in
the member's area. While we encourage daily use of the prospect
system, just entering the names of people you don't know is not an
effective use of your time.
Lately, with the world-wide crackdown on spam, email promotion is
getting more and more difficult. The fact that a lot of the time the
only people on these so called "opt-in" mailing lists are people who
already have 10 opportunities of their own (or no interest in a
business opportunity at all) is making it harder for even
experienced network marketers to refer people in the numbers they
used to.
But
wait, there is an answer...
Internet marketing has always been (and still is) all about building
relationships with the people on the other end of that email you're
sending. All you have to do is look around at who is making the
money. We know of people with lists of 500, or even fewer people,
that make as much from their little email list as giant lead brokers
who have access to MILLIONS.
It all
boils down to WHO is on your list, how they arrived there, and most
importantly - what kind of contact you've had with them since you
started communicating. As someone who is actively involved in
Internet marketing, I'm sure you're on several mailing lists
yourself. Isn't it true that some of the mail you get from people
you recognize ends up straight in your deleted bin as soon as you
see it?
However... there are those few, the smart marketers that took great
care in developing you as a valued contact. Every time something
from them lands in your inbox, you rush to open it, curious to see
what it holds in store for you. You respect those people, you buy
from them sometimes AND - you don't at all mind when they send you
an email.
THAT,
my friends, is the kind of marketer you need to be.
You
might be wondering how to go about changing your ways. Here's how.
Take genuine interest in what other people are doing
online - without losing site of what YOUR goals are. Notice what
they are doing right and tell them about it. Notice what they could
be doing better, and constructively comment on how they can improve
on it.
If
you're like most of our members, you get several hundred
opportunities per day to meet new people online. Maybe someone
has emailed you about their opportunity and it's opened up a door to
start communicating with them. Perhaps you've seen posts in forums
that you have something to say about. While visiting chat rooms, you
might have met people who share your interest in making money
online.
This is Important
Marketing online is a lot like meeting potential mates. Just as
you wouldn't run around a crowed mall yelling "Who wants to get
married! Who wants to get married!", you shouldn't blast a
promotional email to a list of people you don't know and expect them
to do anything other than transfer your message directly to the
deleted folder forever (and at the same time, make a mental note to
not read anything from you ever again).
You
have to do "the dance". While marketing online IS somewhat of a
numbers game, it's still about people and relationships. You'll have
much better luck if you take it slow and deliberate. Actually, it's
not luck at all. It's just what works.
If you
saw someone in that mall that looked like an attractive "prospect",
what would be your first action? You'd probably compliment them on
something, or smile. You would make conversing with you fun, AND
EASY. You'd steer away from topics that could potentially break the
deal immediately, until you felt comfortable with that person and
they felt comfortable with you.
It's
really no different marketing online. YOU MUST make it easy for
people to get to know you. If you think about it for 30 seconds,
you'll come up with a handful of ways to do that - things to say
that will insure your message is read and responded to instead of
tossed in the deleted folder bin.
Your
ultimate goal is to build a relationship with a prospect to
the point where they will recognize an email from you immediately.
It will stand out from the rest of their emails and not be
considered junk. They will respect you - because you have
taken the time and effort to show THEM respect.
When
this happens, two other things happen right along with it:
You CANNOT buy a list of
these people, you must develop this kind of prospect on your
own.
The
key is to KNOW the goal of every email you send. Know that
VWD is YOUR BUSINESS so you will not be a feather in the wind,
signing up for everything that your prospects suggest to you in
return. You must take genuine interest in people and what
they are doing, while staying focused on what YOU are doing.
Try
this simple shift in mindset, and reap the benefits of what it does
for your business!
Relationships...
that's the real key to making money online. The people making the most
money are not necessarily the ones with the biggest mailing lists. The
big earners are the people who practice the fine art of relationship
marketing, and who constantly work to build mailing lists of people who
know them, trust them, and will pay attention to what they have to say.
Given a
choice between 100,000 harvested email addresses (considered spamming if
you mail them) or a list of 500 people who you took the time to get to
know a little, and who will know you when you email them - we'd take the
list of 500 any day.
The key is
to build your list of contacts, day in and day out, religiously.
"Building your list" does not just mean every time you find an email
address, add it to your list or enter it into the prospect system. It
means making personal contact, showing people that you are real and not
just another autoresponder.
Want to
know a secret?
Nine times
out of ten, people who become VWD affiliates join at least partly
because of the person who referred them. In addition to the opportunity
we offer, your prospects will take action because you have given them a
compelling enough reason why they should want to work with you.
The
days of bulk emailing are over.
We have
a strictly enforced spam policy. You should never just purchase
lists of thousands of people and blast emails to them. Not only is it
ineffective, it will probably get you into spam trouble and put your
account at risk for suspension and possible termination of your VWD
membership.
There is a
better way...
If you
spent just a few hours per day communicating with people, how many new
contacts could you make? There are MILLIONS of people online just
waiting to hear from you, as long as you go about it the proper way. If
you are from the school of thought that says the more people you email,
the more success you'll have - we invite you to change your mindset.
From now
on, change that rule to "The more you contact the same person, with
engaging and friendly communication, the more success you'll have".
We don't
mean you should pester people to signup.
Instead,
take an interest in what they are doing, without losing focus of your
goals. Remember that you are the seller, not the buyer! Most people
lack serious focus. Even people who are promoting other opportunities
are good prospects for VWD since our product is so complimentary to
other programs. Heck, experienced affiliate marketers most likely
already have networks of their own, so they might just be the best kind
of prospect you can find.
So how
do you introduce them to VWD without spamming?
Opportunities to meet people online are abundant.
-
You
can participate in online forums.
-
You
can visit chat rooms.
-
You
can use networking sites to find people with similar interests as
you.
-
You
can respond to other people's ads and ask questions to get them
talking.
-
You
can subscribe to their newsletters.
That list
took 10 seconds to compile. If you sit down and really think about all
the opportunities there are to meet people online and start up initial
communication, you'll come up with a lot more on your own.
The key
is to take an actual interest in people. Even if you don't plan on
joining their opportunity, there is nothing ethically or morally wrong
with talking with them about it. Ask questions. Listen to answers.
Learn.
When
people see that you're taking a genuine interest in them and what THEY
are doing, they'll take an interest in you and what YOU are doing.
They'll want to learn more about you. They'll want to know what you do.
They might even ask for a link to your web site!
You don't
have to start selling right away. Take your time. It might be 2 to 3
emails back and forth between you and your prospect before you even
mention VWD That's okay. Remember the story of the tortoise and the
hare? Slow and steady wins the race, right?
When
you're comfortable enough with someone and see that they are being
friendly with you, it's usually okay to ask them to evaluate your VWD
web site. Simply give them your referral link and ask them for their
honest opinion. Tell them you have joined and that you really like our
program, and that you would love the opportunity to work with them if
they like what they see. Let them know that you respect them and that
you value what they would bring to the table.
Try this
simple technique and we're sure you'll be pleased with the results. If
you are not getting the results you desire right now, then it's time to
do things differently. You should not keep doing the same things over
and over and expect different results.
Again,
quality is more important than quantity, and we can assure
you that this promotional method works - AND, you'll never run out of
good, free prospects.
NOTE: If you do
purchase leads, make sure they are from a reputable company that is able
to provide you with opt-in records which include valid contact
information for the leads, as well as the IP address indicating the
numerical address of the computer where the lead was obtained, and the
date and time the person opted to receive information. People often
forget or change their minds about receiving mailings, or they are
bombarded with piles of other offers because the list you are using was
sold to MANY other people - not just you. This is often the case even
when your lead broker assures you they only sell leads one time. There's
no way to tell how many other lead brokers purchased that lead from the
source that generated them, or how many different customers THOSE
brokers sell the same leads to.
You can
set yourself apart from the "crowd" of other promoters that are
contacting your leads by making your email stand out as something very
different than the rest. Instead of just emailing them an ad, try a
quick personal communication with an open-ended question designed to
get that person to respond to you. Even when using purchased leads,
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING is key. You don't have to sell right away.
